Julious Max Quillin, son of Julious Ceaser and Claudia (Heil) Quillin, was born January 17, 1911, in rural Mahaska County. He farmed most of his life in the New Sharon, Newton, and Oskaloosa areas. Max passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Pella Regional Hospital at the age of ninety-four years, one month, and twenty-one days.

Max was united in marriage with Nona McMains September 14, 1935. Following Nona's death Max married Eva Kruse on January 24, 1980 in Oskaloosa.

He was a member of the Beacon Church and was currently attending the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

Max is survived by his step-daughter, Louise Casey of Colorado, her three daughters and eight great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Ruth Quillin of New Sharon; his nieces and nephews, including: Glen Beatty, Norma March, Charles Quillin, David Quillin, Barbara Greenway, Kay Hardema and Terry Lovell, as well as many other great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nona; his second wife, Eva; his brother, Howard Quillin; his sister, Erma Beatty; and an infant sister.
