Laura R. Brouwer, daughter of Everett and Lena (Nugteren) Vandenberg was born April 16, 1953, in Pella. She passed away at the Pella Regional Health Center on Monday, March 21, 2005, at the age of fifty one years, eleven months and five days.

She grew up in the Leighton area. Laura worked for Auto Owners Insurance for over twenty five years. She was an active member of Christ Church in Knoxville, Iowa where she played organ, piano and keyboard. Laura loved gardening, camping as well as her cat. She also enjoyed playing computer games.

On March 7, 1998, she married Duane Brouwer. They made their home in Knoxville, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Duane Brouwer of Knoxville; her mother, Lena Vandenberg, of Leighton; four brothers, Edwin Vandenberg of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, James Vandenberg, and his wife Bonnie, of Omaha, Nebraska, Gary Vandenberg and his wife, Cindy, of Pella, and Thomas Vandenberg, and his wife, Rhonda, of Pella; a step son, Jason Brouwer of Des Moines; a step daughter, Brenda Shearer, of Pella; and two step grandchildren.
