Joe Adrian Nunnikhoven, son of Abraham and Marie De Roon Nunnikhoven, was born December 30, 1910, in Pella, Iowa. He attended Amsterdam Country School, completing the seventh grade. He passed away Monday evening, April 25, 2005, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House at the age of ninety-four years, three months, and twenty-six days.

On January 24, 1936, Joe was united in marriage with Minnie Kruseman at the Leighton parsonage. To this union three daughters were born: Joyce, Eileen, and Judy.

Joe was a self-employed farmer and truck driver. He was also a garage mechanic for Rus Auto Service and a long distance truck driver for Vermeer Manufacturing, retiring in 1972. During his retirement he worked for Vermeer farms.

He was a life-long member of the Third Reformed Church. He enjoyed showing antique tractors, building, fishing, traveling, and was a member of the Red Rock Thrashers. Joe and Minnie wintered in Texas for many years.

Joe is survived by his three daughters: Joyce Lubbers of Pella, Eileen and her husband, Conrad Vander Meyden of Johnston, Iowa, and Judy Nunnikhoven of Pella; six grandchildren: Mike Vander Meyden, Kevin Vander Meyden, Jeff Vander Meyden, Debra Roggow, Cynthia Van Wyk, and E. Jean Lubbers; four great-grandchildren: Crystal Van Wyk, Bradley Roggow, Alyssa Roggow, and Daniel Roggow; one step great-granddaughter: Jessica Witten; two step great-great-grandchildren: Leah Haak and Landon Witten; two sisters-in-law: Anna Nunnikhoven of Pella, and Grace Nunnikhoven of Oskaloosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers: Abe, Tony, and Case Nunnikhoven; two sisters: Henrietta Hoksbergen and Jeanette Van Haaften; and his son-in-law, Andrew Lubbers, Jr.
