Wilma Emma Louise Wallentine Pfadenhauer was born on July 21, 1911, in Sperry, Iowa. She was the oldest of four children born to Christian and Ada Schroeder Wallentine. She attended Zion Grade School in Sperry and graduated from Danville High School in Danville, Iowa in 1929.

On July 30, 1930, Wilma was united in marriage with Clarence George Pfadenhauer. To this union four children were born; Roger Clarence, Irene Wilma, Sharon Maxine, and Elda Verlee. Clarence and Wilma spent many years farming in the Burlington area. They were both insurance agents from 1942 to 1975. Wilma enjoyed playing the piano and organ, making puzzles and traveling. In her younger years, she raised gladiola's for a local flower shop.

On January 16, 1983, Clarence passed away at the age of seventy-four years. Clarence and Wilma had celebrated fifty-three years of married life together. Wilma moved to Pella in 1986. On Wednesday, October 12, 2005, Wilma passed away peacefully at the Hospice Comfort House in Pella. She attained the age of ninety- four years, two months, and twenty-one days.

Those left to honor her memory are her four children and their spouses; Roger and his wife, Joann Pfadenhauer of Pella, Iowa, Irene and her husband Robert Bush of Freeport, Illinois, Sharon Welker of Des Moines and Elda and her husband, Gerald Schweikle, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and a brother, Delbert Wallentine of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence, her brother, Harold, and her sister, Marcella Carlson.
