In Memory Of Graveside Service Visitation In Lieu Of Flowers
Kathryn (Katie) Hulleman Katie, as she preferred to be called, was born January 19, 1922, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Forrest and Mable Stover Rice. Her family later moved to Des Moines where she attended North High School completing the twelfth grade. Katie was introduced to Rick Hulleman by mutual friends and they later eloped to Missouri on February 14, 1942. Katie and her husband farmed near Otley, Iowa, for many years. In 1960 they moved into Otley and operated the Otley Lunch until 1969. Following her husband's death in 1990 Katie continued living in Otley until 1998. She then moved into Fair Haven East in Pella, Iowa. She broke her hip shnortly after the move to Pella and went to Griffin Nursing Center where she stayed until her death. Katie is survived by her two children and their spouses: Jo and Wayne Langstraat of Columbia, Iowa, and Ronald and Ruth Hulleman of Pella, Iowa; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; her sister: MaryAnne Harlan of Des Moines; and her brother: Kenny Rice of Montezuma, Iowa. Katie will be missed by her family and friends. They will always cherish the many memories she made in her lifetime. |
