Mae C. Graham

Mae Cornelia Graham, daughter of Arthur and Hattie De Jong Huyser, was born December 29, 1916, southwest of Lynnville, Iowa. She passed away at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell on Saturday morning, June 3, 2006, at the age of eighty-nine years.

Mae attended Lynnville High School graduating with the class of 1934. On September 8, 1938, she was united in marriage with Lester Klyn at her parents home near Sully. To this union one daughter was born, Carolyn Sue. The family lived on a farm west of Lynnville for several years. Lester passed away in 1967. On October 21, 1969, Mae married Earl Graham in Sully, Iowa. In 1993 they moved into Sully and continued to live there until Earl's death in 1997.

Mae enjoyed helping on the farm as well as doing embroidery and crocheting in her free time. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sully.

She is survived by her daughter and husband: Carolyn and Glen Orndorff of Lynnville, Iowa; her step-daughter, Donna Fleming of Urbandale, Iowa; her step-son and his wife, Ron and Ruth Graham of Kellogg, Iowa; one granddaughter, Michelle Stevens of Sully; five step-grandsons: Royce, Randy, and Rick Fleming, Robin and Reagan Graham; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Amy Ver Steegt and Grace Vander Werff both of Newton; and one brother, Norman Huyser of Newton.

Preceding her in death were her two husbands; one daughter in infancy, Virginia Lee, in 1952; two brothers: Bruce Huyser in 1960 and Willis Huyser in 1992; one sister: Ruth in 1990.
