Pauline Rozendaal Mathes, the daughter of Ben and Marie (Schep) Rozendaal, was born June 26, 1924 with her twin Pearl Rozendaal Riemersma on a farm north of Sully. She passed away March 14, 2008 at the Comfort House of Pella at the age of 83.

On February 12, 1948 Pauline and her twin Pearl were married at Third Reformed Church. Pauline married to Harold Mathes and Pearl married to Charlie Riemersma. Pauline and Harold made their home in Pella a short time before moving to the home farm north of Pella.

Pauline enjoyed sewing quilts with First Church ladies and enjoyed crafts. She was a loving wife and mother and a very kind even tempered person.

Harold and Pauline adopted two children, Melissa at age 1 ½ and Jeffrey at age 8.

Pauline is survived by Harold, her husband of 60 years, two children Malissa (Mathes) Wheeler of Jolley, Iowa and Jeffrey Mathes. Grandchildren Steven Pazzi and Austin Crase. Great Grandaughter Ashtyn Pazzi. Sisters Stella Meulpolder, Pearl Riemersma of Pheonix, AZ. Sister-in-law Bertha (Jake) Rozendaal, brother-in-law Laurence Bogaards and his wife Harriett and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Marie Rozendaal, sisters Elizabeth Franje and Bertha Bogaards and a brother Jacob Rozendaal.
