Margaret Louise Pavlat was born to August and Anna (Mueller) Westphal on May 6, 1930, at State Center, Iowa. She passed away at the Pella Regional Health Center on December 13, 2010, at the age of eighty.
On August 15, 1959, Margaret was united in marriage with John Robert Pavlat in State Center. To this union their son David was adopted.
Margaret graduated from State Center High School and attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa She got her teaching certificate from the Teachers College at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Becoming a teacher was her dream and in 1952 that dream came true. Margaret was an elementary school teacher in the Ames school system where she taught first and second grade at the Edwards and Welch Schools until 1961.
She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and crafting. Her favorite place was her home.
Margaret was a member of the St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Ames, Iowa.
She is survived by her son, David Pavlat and his wife Debbie of Pella and four grandchildren: Ashley, Whitney, Andrew, and Luke Pavlat all of Pella.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Robert Pavlat.
