Casimir "Casey" Koza Obituary

Casimir “Casey” Koza was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on February 1, 1924 to Joseph and MaryAnna Koza. He died on July 29, 2018 at The Cottages in Pella, Iowa at the age of 94. After graduating from Manchester West High School in 1941, Casey joined the U S Navy and served as a radioman during World War II in North Africa; Anzio, Italy; South America; the Philippines; and Shanghai from 1943 to 1946. He married Elnore Lovely in Concord, NH in 1951, and they had two daughters, Kim and Jane. Casey worked as a station agent and dispatcher for the Boston and Maine Railroad from 1949-1954. He started as an agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1954 and worked for the company for 32 years, retiring as senior sales representative in 1986. While at Met Life, he received many sales awards and attended numerous leadership conferences.

Casey loved playing golf and was a member of the Claremont, NH Country Club for many years. He also enjoyed planting flowers around his home in Claremont and taking trips to the seacoast in Maine and New Hampshire with Elnore and his family. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Claremont, the Metropolitan Life Veterans Association, and the Knights of Columbus. After Elnore died, Casey moved to Pella in 2013 to be near his daughter Kim and son-in-law Michael who are grateful for the time they were able to spend with him. Casey is survived by his daughter Kimberly Koza Harris and husband Michael Harris of Pella; two grandsons, Lech Harris of Philadelphia and William Harris of Minneapolis; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Lovely Meek and husband Al Meek of Cartersville, Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Elnore, he was preceded in death by his daughter Jane, three brothers and three sisters, and his sister-in-law Virginia Lovely.
