Edith Marie Van Gorp was born March 6, 1922, to Charles and Carrie (Vroom) Newendorp, on a farm near Leighton, Iowa.
On February 10, 1943, she was united in marriage to Edward Van Gorp at her parents’ home. They were the parents of three children: Ethel, Dennis and Nancy. Edith made profession of faith March 24, 1939, at the First Reformed Church in Pella. At the time of her death, she was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church in Pella, where she participated in the Seek and Serve Society.
Edith enjoyed and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, African violets, crocheting doilies and afghans, making quilts, rugs, cooking and baking, reading and playing cards with family and friends.
Edith lived a full life, was ready to meet her Lord, and will be missed very much!

Edith was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents Charles and Carrie Newendorp, her parents-in-law John and Minnie Van Gorp, her sisters: Leona Meppelink, and Verla Newendorp at age 2 ½; her brother Elmer Newendorp and wife Albertha her niece and nephews: Vernon, Larry and Karen (Bishop) Newendorp; and her son-in-law Irvin Van Rheenen.
