Rebecca Wright Madden was born September 27, 1955, to Robert Maurice and Marjorie Wright in London, England. She passed away on June 3, 2018, in Pella, Iowa.
Rebecca married Richard Madden on November 20, 1981, in London, England. She moved to Pella in 1994 upon her husband’s retirement from the Navy. She worked in the T & D Department Store and managed the Griffin Antique Store for several years.
Rebecca was a very talented artist, who was completely self-taught. She would spend much of her time painting. She was proud of her British heritage and background. She was so proud of this heritage that she never lost her accent and declined to become an American citizen. That did not stop her interests in politics. She was an avid supporter of progressive causes.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Richard of Pella, her daughter Rachel Madden of Fort Monroe, Virginia, and her grandson Owen Williams. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Marja Wright, Jr. of St. Albans, England, and her nephew Matthew Wright of London, England.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents Marjorie and Robert Wright and her sister Julie Wright.
