Obituary

Anna Terpstra Montgomery Olsthoorn, daughter of William and Nellie Terpstra, was born December 30, 1913, near Lynnville, Iowa. She passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2009, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell, Iowa, at the age of ninety-five.

As a child Anna attended the Lynnville School and graduated from the eighth grade.

On December 2, 1937, she was united in marriage with Lyle Montgomery. Lyle passed away in 1965. On August 5, 1969 Anna married Lambert Olsthoorn. Lambert passed away in 1995.

Anna enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a mother to many children, and loved embroidery and crocheting. She always prepared coffee time for her family after church on Sunday mornings. She also enjoyed wintering in Texas with her sister.

Anna made profession of faith in her younger years and then became a lifetime member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church. She was also a member of the Sully Senior Citizen Club, the Kitchen Band, and was involved in Sewing Days at her church.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her three step-daughters and their husbands: Ceceila and Jerald Kuiper of Montezuma, Iowa, Lucille and Donald Van Wyk of Lynnville, Iowa, Marlena and David Eschweiler of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sisters: Wilhemina "Billy" Monsma of Pella, Iowa, and Wanda Dunsbergen of Lynnville, Iowa; nine step-grandchildren; and sixteen step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death: her parents; her two husbands, Lyle Montgomery and Lambert Olsthoorn; a son, Marvin LeRoy Montgomery who died in infancy; a special nephew, Donald Montgomery; her brothers and their wives: George and Lizzie Terpstra, Dick and Minnie Terpstra, Carl Terpstra and his wives, Alma and Ellen; two sisters and their husbands: Rena and Gysbert Elscott, Pauline and Harry Engle; and two brothers-in-law: Cornie Dunsbergen and Glen Monsma.
