Arie Gysbert Klein was born November 29, 1923, to William and Marie Van Gent Klein in Pella, Iowa. He passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, at the Pella Regional Health Center-Long Term Care at the age of eighty-eight.

He received his early education in the Pella Schools. His first job was working on the railroad. He later became employed at the Pella Corporation where he worked on the paint line. It is there where he met his future wife, Nellie, and they could often be seen walking to work together.

On January 31, 1946, Arie was united in marriage with Nellie Marie Schuring in Pella, Iowa. They were blessed with two children: Arvin and Sandra.

Arie enjoyed working in his garage, woodworking, collecting circus memorabilia, making cement yard ornaments, bus tours with Nellie, and family barbeques. He was a life-long member of the Third Reformed Church in Pella.

Arie retired May 3, 1986, after forty years of employment at Pella Corporation.

He is survived by his wife; his two children and their spouses; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Arie was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Daniel Klein and his wife Beatrice; and his sister Jennie and her husband Bill Vos.
