Arlin Dale Gordin was one of six children born to Dale and Elizabeth (Van Veen) Gordin on December 18, 1933 at Oskaloosa, Iowa. Arlin spent his entire career doing construction and building barns.

Arlin served in the Army from 1953-1955. On July 28, 1956, he and Margaret Crumes were united in marriage. They had three daughters: Pamela, RoxAnn, and Lori.

Arlin spent most of his summers traveling to Canada to do a lot of his favorite hobbies including fishing, boating, and hunting. He also enjoyed working on puzzles and watching the Yankees and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Arlin passed away on December 26, 2016, at the Cottages in Pella due to complications of Parkinson's at the age of 83. Surviving Arlin are his wife Margaret; their three daughters: Pamela (Tony) Ganey of Mesa, Arizona, RoxAnn (David) Morrison of Ada, Michigan, and Lori (Mark) Mullen of Pella, Iowa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no funeral or memorial visitation. In lieu of flowers, cards may be sent to Margaret Gordin, 1742 Main Street, Zeeland #12, Pella, IA 50219.
