Bernice Emma McClain went to be with her Lord on Sunday evening, January 6, 2008 at the Pella Regional Health Center - Long Term Care at the age of ninety-one.
Bernice was born near Honey Ford, North Dakota on March 31, 1916 to Charles and Johanna (Samson) Molenaar. She resided most of her adult life in Burlington, Iowa and was employed at the Scheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison and at the Iowa Ordinance Plant in Burlington.
She was united in marriage to George McClain in 1964. She moved to Pella following the death of her husband.
Bernice was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Pella.
The only relative surviving is her sister-in-law Sadie Albright of Sully.
Preceding her in death was: her parents; her step-father, Chris Albright; her husband, George; one brother, Andrew Albright; and four sisters: Marie (John) VanGilst, Cora (John) Zegers, Pauline (Tim) Zegers, and Klazina (Rudolph) Trosen.
The family wishes to express appreciation to all those who gave her loving care, both at Griffin Nursing Home in Knoxville and the Pella Long Term Care.
Bernice will be remembered by her happy personality, her good sense of humor, and her generous giving to her church.
She will be missed by her family and friends.
