Johnson Demoss
August 2, 1927 – March 4, 2007
Betty A. Johnson DeMoss, daughter of John J. and Ellen S. Davidson Longdin, was born August 2, 1927, in Otley, Iowa. She passed away at Knoxville Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa on March 4, 2007, at the age of seventy-nine years.
On January 25, 1946, Betty was united in marriage with Charles "Boots" Johnson in Tracy, Iowa. To this union two sons were born, Jim and Tim. Boots preceded her in death, on January 3, 1984. Betty was united in marriage with Marion DeMoss on May 23, 1987 in Nashua, Iowa.
Betty owned the West End Cafe in Pella, Iowa in the 60's. She started working at Pella Rolscreen in mid-60's and retiring from Pella Corporation in 1985. She lived in Otley, Iowa, Pella, Iowa and Knoxville, Iowa most of her life. The last six months she enjoyed living at Westridge Nursing Center in Knoxville, Iowa.
Betty enjoyed cooking and baking, and attended the Nazarene Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Jim and Denise Johnson of Northfield, Minnesota; Tim and Connie Johnson of Plano, Texas; stepson and spouse, Clifford (Marcia) DeMoss of Knoxville, Iowa; step-daughter, Sandy (Ron) Paulson of Lakeville, Minnesota: her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Jackie) Longdin of Newton, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Robert Schwaab of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Doc (Iverna) DeMoss, Jerry (Inez) DeMoss and Bob (June) DeMoss, all of Knoxville, Iowa, and Pete (Doris) DeMoss of Pleasantville, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Wanda (Lyle) James of Knoxville, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands: Boots Johnson; and then Marion De Moss on July 24, 2006; and a sister Louise Schwaab.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa or to the family in Betty's name.
