IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brock
Pope
April 22, 1990 – June 17, 2024
Brock Anthony Pope was born April 22, 1990, to Jack and Ronda (Wright) Pope in Pella, Iowa. On Monday, June 17, 2024, after celebrating his first Father's Day, Brock tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident.
Brock was a 2008 graduate of Pella Community High School, and a graduate of Iowa State University. Brock's passion was science. He worked in research and development at Corteva Agriscience in Johnston, Iowa.
On July 18, 2021, he was united in marriage to Elizebeth Payton, in Littleton, Colorado. To this union, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter Loguen Ruby. The life Brock and Libby built is a testament to Brock's commitment to his friends and family. He was a hands-on father and spent his days tenderly caring for his wife and daughter. He was the epitome of a "girl dad" and entertained every outfit change and creative photoshoot Libby could come up with - and he did so with a smile on his face.
Brock was the neighborhood clown, and instigator. He had a quirky smile, feisty attitude, and a confident personality. He loved sports, was an avid reader and also loved to write. Despite this heartbreaking loss, we know Brock will live on through the memories and stories others will share of him.
Brock is survived by his wife Libby, daughter Loguen, parents Jack and Ronda Pope of Pella, sister Ryan (Mike) Peters and their children Leo, Greyson, and Elliotte of Waukee, grandparents: Edith Pope, John and Carol Wright, parents-in-law Patrick and Della Payton, and siblings-in-law: Erin (Todd) Dickerson and their children Hailey and Celeste, Brad Korte, Anastasia, Kati, Stephanie, Felicia, Tiffany, and their families, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many other family members. He is also survived by his beloved dog Olli and cat Rudy.
Brock was preceded in death by his daughter Goldie Pope, grandparents Carroll Pope, Ruby Pope, aunt Cindy Wright, uncle Brian Van Dusseldorp, and cousin Blake Schroder.
