Calvin Jones, son of Pearl Calvin and Winnie Willis Jones, was born on January 22, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa. Calvin graduated from Saydel High School with the class of 1969. He then joined the Navy serving his country from 1969-1970. He was employed as a construction worker, specifically working as a roofer, drove a truck, and also worked for Goodyear, retiring in 1983 due to ill health.

On August 24, 1979 Calvin was united in marriage with Rebecca Bowie in Des Moines, Iowa. They had three children: Jack, Kimberly, and Jaimie. The family moved to Pella from Des Moines in 1983 and in 2006 moved to Knoxville.

Calvin loved to fish. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Rebecca; his children and their wives and husbands: Jack and Christina Jones of Pella, Kimberly and Tyson Faoro of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Jaimie and Gary Tennyson of Yuma, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren; one sister and her husband: Wilma and Don Brasch of Johnston, Iowa; four brothers: Earl Jones of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Ron Jones of Des Moines, Iowa, Charles Jones of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Tim Jones and his wife, Tammy, of Des Moines, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Pearl and Winnie Jones.
