Obituary

Calvin Eugene Vande Voort was born September 13, 1963, to Gerritt and Leona (Memmelaar) Vande Voort, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Calvin was a 1982 graduate of Pella Christian High School, and farmed his entire life. He enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, water skiing, snow skiing, and canoeing the Skunk River, Des Moines River and the Boundary Waters.  He also enjoyed traveling, family trips to the Ozarks, and defeating his siblings and friends playing cards. Calvin also enjoyed working in  the shop repairing and fabricating farm equipment . He enjoyed building and flying remote airplanes. Calvin lived in the same house his entire life.

Calvin was an active member of the Leighton Christian Reformed Church where he was a Cadet leader, deacon and an elder.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Leona Vande Voort, his siblings: Vicki Vande Voort of Denver, Colorado, Kathy (Dave) Heinen of Pella, Pam (Lance) Bricker of Runnells, Sandi (Matt) Luoma of Littleton, Colorado, and Richard (Deb) Vande Voort of Leighton and his nieces and nephews: Emily (Brian) Andersen, and their children: Maddie, Lindsay, Brooke; Joe Smith; Sam, Max and Victoria Bricker; Jake, Becky, and Gary Luoma; and Nathan Cole, and Danielle Vande Voort.

Calvin was preceded in death by his father Gerritt Vande Voort and his grandparents Wm and Grace Vande Voort and Barney and Carrie Memmelaar.

Family will plan a gathering at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Pella Christian FFA.
