Carol Joy Hamre was born on January 16, 1967, to Arthur and Mary De Koning Blommers at Knoxville, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House at the age of forty-five.

Carol received her early education in the Pella Schools and graduated from Pella Community High School with the class of 1985.

She cleaned homes for many people in the Pella area. She also enjoyed cross stitching, cycle riding, and mushroom hunting.

Carol was preceded in death by: her brother, Calvin Blommers; grandparents, Jake and Evelyn De Koning and David and Stella Blommers; and uncles, Byron Blommers and Jerry De Koning.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her parents, Arthur and Mary Blommers of Pella; her brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Shannon Blommers of Oskaloosa, Iowa; and sister and brother-in-law, Linda Blommers and Duane Wyma of Malcom, Iowa; nieces, Kayla and Britti Wyma; nephews, Devon and Brady Blommers; her aunts and uncles; her best friend, Lori De Joode; and many dear friends.
