Charles "Bud"
Manges

Charles Jefferson "Bud" Manges was born on February 8, 1915, to Harry and Mable Liming Manges in Wells, Minnesota. Bud grew up in the Oskaloosa/Montezuma area where he completed the eighth grade in the Oskaloosa School System. He served his country with the United States Navy Seabees from 1943-1945.
Bud married Frances VR "Tiny" Day in 1935 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and they were blessed with one child, Charles Dana. On December 23, 1956, Bud was united in marriage with Johanna Mae Visser in Oskaloosa, Iowa. They made their home for over fifty years in the house that Bud built on Huber Street in Pella.
On Friday, December 13, 2013, Bud went to be with his Lord at the West Ridge Nursing Home in Knoxville at the age of ninety-eight.
Those who will cherish his memory are his son Dana "Chuck" and his wife, Rosemary Manges of Pella; his two grandsons: Craig and his wife Roxanne Manges of Fowler, California and Corey and his wife Debra Manges of Rowlett, Texas; his grandchildren: Miles Manges, Chanell Manges, and Corey Junior "CJ" Manges. He is also survived by his sister, Rowena Steadham of Pella, and his step-daughter, Marilyn Jellema of Knoxville. A special thanks to Howard Bogaards for his care, concern, and friendship with Bud during these last few years.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings: Edward Manges, Margaret Boggs, Eloise Shroyer, Harry Manges, Delores Rowley, and Violet Van Steenis.
