Obituary

Jacoba "Cobie" Spoelstra was born February 26, 1939, to Jelle and Anna (Kuiken) De Vries at their home in Slootdorp, Noord Holland, the Netherlands. Cobie and her family immigrated to the United States in 1949, and settled near Leighton. Cobie attended Pella Christian Schools.

On June 3, 1960, she was united in marriage to Bernard Spoelstra at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella. To this union they were blessed with four children: Rick, Michael, Brenda and Timothy.

Cobie very much enjoyed flowers, puzzles,  playing the organ, and driving school bus. She worked in the lunch room at Pella Christian Schools, was a waitress at Strawtown Inn, and cleaned houses. She loved vacations with her husband and her brother and sister. Most of all, Cobie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an unconditional love for all! She also loved her little Shih Tzu Sophie.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Bernie Spoelstra and their family:
