Cornelia Wilhelmina Vos was born on August 12, 1921 to Gerrit and Maria (Valster) Van Zee at their home west of Pella. Cornelia married Cornie A. Vos on August 27, 1941 at her parents' home near Leighton. Together they had six children: Arvin, Daryl, Don, Carolyn, Pauline and John. Cornie and Cornelia farmed north of Peoria from 1941-1952. Then they moved to northwest of Oskaloosa and farmed there until they retired. Cornelia was an active partner in managing and operating the farm.

Cornelia loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, playing Scrabble, Rook, and other games with family and friends. She loved our Lord and desired to live a life pleasing to God. She found comfort and strength in her faith, especially with the loss of a young son and, later, her husband's accident. In spite of these losses, she was resilient and lived a joyful and grateful life. All her family and friends will remember her for her faithfulness, humor, and quick wit.

She a was preceded in death by husband Cornie, son Daryl, siblings Fred Van Zee, Rena Van Donselaar, Willie Van Zee, Eddie Van Zee, and Marion Van Zee.
