Cornelia Tibboel was born on January 13, 1923, to Peter and Adrajana Kleinendorst Verschuure at their farm home near Tracy, Iowa.

She attended elementary schools in the Tracy, Otley Prairie City, and Pella area and graduated from Pella High School in 1941. She taught one year in a rural school northeast of Pella, then worked at the Pella Rolscreen Company for four years. On February 23, 1945, Cornelia was united in marriage with Harry Tibboel in a double ceremony along with her sister Catherine and Harry's first cousin Frank Vander Wiel.

Cornelia and Harry moved to Des Moines and raised three children: Ron, Keith and Donna. Cornelia was assisted by her husband in her custom drapery business for twenty-four years. After retirement they moved back to Pella and lived there until moving back to Des Moines in July of this year.

Cornelia was preceded in death by: her parents; her adult brothers, Andrew and Tunis; an adult sister, Jeanette; sister Mattie, who died at age two; and three brothers who died in infancy.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; sons: Ron (Marlys) and Keith (Beth) and daughter, Donna; grandchildren; Grady (Laurie), Greg (Twyla), Dawn (Dale); two great-grandchildren: Dean and Jacob; and her sister, Catherine Vander Weil.
