Cornelia Jacoba Tibboel was born May 21, 1917, to Martin and Maggie Tibboel at Cordova, Iowa. She went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at the age of ninety-seven. Cornelia was united in marriage with Tunis Verschuure on February 23, 1939, at her parents' home near Monroe, Iowa. They were blessed with five children: David, Eunice, Ruth, Robert, and Jerry. Cornelia enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and lent a helping hand to anyone in need. She and Tunis liked to travel and visited all fifty states. Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: David and Evelyn Verschuure, Eunice and Robert Keuning, Ruth and Jerry Ver Meer, Robert and Faye Verschuure, Jerry and Corinne Verschuure; fifteen grandchildren: Douglas and Juli Verschuure, Lori and Mark May, Melody and Rusty Ebert, Gary and Kim Verschuure, Brian and Peggy Keuning, Michael and Kathleen Keuning, Steven and Marla Ver Meer, Gregory and Sandra Ver Meer, Sharon and Joel DeKraker, Jeffrey and Angela Verschuure, Susan and Brian Schippers, Kristin and Sean Tighe, Curtis and Carey Verschuure, Kevin and Kara Verschuure, Stacie and Joel Holst; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her two sisters: Ann Van Zee and Margaret and her husband, Stan Mulder; sisters-in-law: Martha Tibboel, Helen Tibboel, and Ruth Tibboel. Cornelia was preceded in death by: her husband, Tunis, on April 30, 1997; her parents, Martin and Maggie (Stam) Tibboel; sister, Nellie (Jerry) Rashell; brothers, Clarence, in infancy, Frank (Erma), Gerrit (Martha), Harry (Cornelia) John, Ted, and Herman; and brother-in-law, Andrew Van Zee. She was also preceded by her husband's family: parents, Peter and Jennie (Kleinendorst) Verschuure, his brother Andrew (Dena) Verschuure, and sisters Jeanette (Simon) Van Dusseldorp, Catherine (Frank) Vander Wiel, and Cornelia (Harry) Tibboel.
