Deborah Lynn Willemsen was born January 16, 1953, to Wilfred and Velma (Jolliffe) Willemsen in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Deb passed away at the Comfort House after a courageous battle with cancer.

She grew up in Pella and was a 1971 graduate of Pella Community High School. Deb attended Open Bible College in Des Moines and went back to DMACC in 1986 to become an RN. Throughout her career, Deb worked at Pella Health Clinic as Office Assistant, then as a nurse at Pella Regional in the Medical/Surgical area and the Intensive Care Unit. She loved her job and the people she worked with.

During high school, Deb was a member of FHA, the Pep Club and the Church Quiz Team who got third place in Nationals. Deb was known to share her conservative political views, and was quiet with a wonderful sense of humor. And in lieu of flowers, Deb requests that you not vote for Hillary Clinton. She enjoyed trying new restaurants, cooking, traveling, going to shows at the Civic Center, and watching the Union Street Players. She was very giving, and loved and cared for her friends, co-workers, and her family. She also loved and cared for her four-legged companion - her dog. She especially loved spoiling Harlow.

Deb is survived by her siblings: David and Kathy Willemsen, Midlothian, Texas, Janie and Dan Kujaczynski, Washington, Iowa, Patty (the late Doug) Van Haaften, Otley, Iowa, Mary Willemsen, Pella, Iowa, and Joe and Fran Willemsen, Pella, Iowa; special niece Lacey and Nathan De Zwarte and Harlow of Pella; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
