Donald Dale Verros was born March 13, 1934, to William and Grace (Den Hartog) Verros, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Don attended Iola School through 6th grade, and was a 1952 graduate of Pella Community High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1954, served in Hawaii and the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in California.

On June 14, 1957, he was united in marriage to Nancy Van Zomeren, at Central Reformed Church in Oskaloosa. They moved to the family farm near Harvey, Iowa, where they raised their family. To this union they were blessed with three children: Debra, Darcy, and Kenton. Following Nancy's death in 1995, he later married Deborah Van Weelden.

Don farmed until 1982, then worked as a rural mail carrier until November 2000, when he retired.

Don is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Joanne (Gerald) Roquet, Shirley Van Zomeren, Marylinn (Jim) Rice, Trudy (Bruce) Van Wyk, and Kim (Steve) Roose.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Verros, his parents William and Grace Verros, step-mother Bess Verros, sister Pauline (Matt) Oliver, brother Maurice (June) Verros, and brother-in-law Jerry Van Zomeren.
