Dora went by her middle name, Frances, most of her life.  Frances was born in Adrian, Michigan on April 30, 1934 to Bernard L McAdam and Mary L. Krick.  She received a Ph.B from Siena Heights College and an M.A. from The University of Michigan.  On February 11, 1956 she was united in marriage with Paul M. Koehn.   Born of this union were four children: Mark Philip, Karen Frances, Kurtis Edward, and Peter Martin.

Having received her counseling degree from the University of Michigan, she was employed by the Juvenile Division of Probate court, Lenawee County, Michigan.  In 1970 the family moved to Orange City, Iowa where she was the junior high school counselor for the Maurice-Orange City school system.  Moving to Pella, Iowa in 1974 she was employed as a Guidance Counselor for the Pella High School and Pella Middle School.

Frances was a member of Third Reformed Church and has served on the boards of Bethany Christian Services, the Marion County Child Abuse Prevention Council, Kinship of Pella and Families First of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Mary McAdam, two brothers, Wilfred James McAdam and Robert Bernard McAdam, her son Mark Philip Koehn, and her husband, Paul Martin Koehn.

Frances is survived by three children, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one expected great grandchild in May of this year.
