Obituary

Bel was born on March 6, 1933, in the early morning to A.T. and Jennie (Van Heukelom) Ver Meer in Pella. She graduated from Pella Christian High School in 1951. Bel started dating Dale Vos in 1950, and married him April 16, 1954, one month after he returned from Korea.  To this union, three boys were born: Michael Dale, Mark Edwin, and Nick Allen.

Through the years, Bel worked as a waitress, a typist at the Rolscreen and a psych nurse. After the birth of her boys, she returned to work as a CNA at Pella Hospital, cooked for Pella Christian School, worked at Christian Opportunity Center School, for Central College food service and at Open Bible church camp. Somehow, she still found time to work in retirement at Central College 2 days a week, perform inventory of 3 Stop N' Go stations, and volunteer as a driver for the State transporting people to and from hospital and doctor appointments, and teens from detention home.

Bel led a life filled with joy. Joy came in the form of time with her children, grandchildren, her church family, and her adoring spouse. Bel cherished her relationship with God and carried those fundamental values into sharing a successful 64-year marriage with Dale.

Bel reunites in heaven with: her parents A.T. and Jennie Ver Meer, her brother and his wife Bud and Helene Ver Meer, her son Nick Vos, her grandson Joseph Ryan Vos, and her granddaughter Kaydance Cloe Siedlecki .
