Elaine "Lanie" Grace Sothman was born on April 25, 2015, in Pella, Iowa, to Brian and Anna (Bohnett) Sothman. She passed away on June 23, 2016, at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines.

Lanie was an easy-going little girl who loved all people and was loved by all. She had big brown eyes and a beautiful big smile. She loved eating ice cream, Dutch Letters, and bread from Vander Ploeg's Bakery, but most of all she loved playing with Daniel and McKenzie.

Lanie will be greatly missed by her parents Brian and Anna, siblings Daniel and McKenzie, maternal grandparents Mark and Carol Bohnett of Winnebago, Minnesota; paternal grandparents Kevin and Kathy Sothman of Ankeny, Iowa; aunts and uncles: Joshua Bohnett, Kara Bohnett, Leah Bohnett, Sarah and Adam Bartlett, Vanessa and Jonathan Smith, Stacia Sothman, Kaitlen Sothman, Allyssa Sothman and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her great-grandparents Jean Sothman of Creston, Zona Lautt of Topeka, Kansas, and Wilma Bohnett of St. Louis, Missouri.

Lanie has been welcomed into heaven by her uncle Levi Sothman, and great-grandparents: Clair Sothman, Clarence Lautt, Earl Bohnett, and Albert and Jeanette Hopson.
