Elizabeth Wilhelmina Van Hemert was born February 8, 1929, to Bert and Jennie (DeKoning) Harselaar, in Jasper County, Iowa. She passed away on February 12, 2020, at the Cottages in Pella.

In 1948, Liz met Gerald Allen Van Hemert and the two were married on February 21, 1950, in Newton.  To this union two children were born: Rosalie and Randy.

She loved to spend time with family and friends and never missed a family party.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Randy Van Hemert of San Antonio, Texas, her daughter Rosie (Keith) De Bruin, of Pella; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law Wayne Van Hemert of Springfield, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.

Liz was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, her parents, her parents-in-law Cornelius and Johanna Van Hemert and her siblings and several in-laws.
