Evert John Hol, son of Willem and Maria van den Scheur Hol, was born September 28, 1920 in Knoxville, Iowa. He passed away Saturday morning, December 29, 2007 at the Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville, Iowa at the age of eighty-seven years.

On December 3, 1941 Evert was united in marriage with Cora Jonker at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church in Peoria, Iowa. To this union five children were born: Evelyn, Ruth, Dorothy, Peter, and Donna.

Evert was a lifelong farmer in the Peoria/Pella area. He made his Profession of Faith at the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Leighton. He was a faithful member of the Peoria Christian Reformed Church for many years and currently a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

Those left to cherish his memory are: two daughters: Dorothy and her husband, John Huisman, of South Holland, Illinois, and Donna Hol of Axtell, Nebraska; his son-in-law: Arvin Bandstra and his wife, Connie of Pella; three grandsons: Matt and Luke Huisman and Dr. Russ Bandstra; nine great-grandchildren: Zachary, Rachael, Aaron, Alex, Jayden, and Kody Huisman, Steven, Elizabeth and Christopher Bandstra; four sisters: Nellie Wyngarden, Janet Vander Beek, Marie Beekhuizen, and Minnie Van Wyngarden; one sister-in-law: Edith Meppelink and her husband, Arthur of Pella; and one brother-in-law: James Jonker of Pella.

Evert was preceded in death by his wife Cora on October 11, 2007; his parents; two daughters: Evelyn Bandstra and Ruth Hol; a son Peter; a grandson Richard Bandstra; two infant brothers: Willem and Gerritt Hol; his brother Marion Hol; and four brothers-in-law: Elmer Wyngarden, Elmer Vander Beek, Bert Beekhuizen and Henry Van Wyngarden.

Evert will be remembered by his family and friends for his love for his family and the many memories he created in his lifetime.
