Gloria Jean Trueblood, the youngest of four girls, was born October 31, 1961, to Mervin and Evelyn (Vos) Trueblood in Pella, Iowa. She passed away at the University of Iowa Hospital on July 13, 2026, after many years of health issues. As her friends would say – “have you met Gloria?”.

Gloria was a 1980 graduate of Pella High School and received a Jr. Accounting degree from AIB College of Business in Des Moines.

She worked from the time she could until her forced medical retirement. Some of those jobs were: Country Kitchen, Con-Agra and Primera Foods, and most recently Winnebago.

Gloria will be remembered as a loyal friend and having a positive attitude and a laugh that would light up the whole room. She loved Dachshunds and trips to Florida. She was also a “mother figure” to many kids in Britt.

Gloria is survived by her faithful son Alexander Trueblood and his girlfriend Bailey Karsjens of Cedar Falls, Iowa, their weiner dog Buddy; and her sisters: Diana (Jim) De Boer, Rita (Jeff) Bender, and Juli Van Zante all of Pella, and her nieces and nephews: Vince De Boer, Jaci Enyart, Joshua Pearson, Hilary Pearson, Cameron Van Zante and Parker Van Zante.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mervin and Evelyn Trueblood.
