Henry Allen Rooda was born October 16, 1943, to Andrew and Clara (Van Dyk) Rooda, in Friesland, the Netherlands. His family immigrated to the U.S. in October 1948.

Hank attended country schools near Pella. He worked for Grootveld Oil Co. for many years. On June 24, 1993, he was united in marriage to Donna Van Zante. The antique business Hank and Donna owned provided opportunity for Hank to educate himself in many areas. He loved that job and met many folks because of it. He always wore a cross necklace which gave him a chance to share his faith in Jesus Christ, His Lord and Savior. Sometimes he would give his cross away to encourage others in their faith.

Hank was a member of the Church of the Open Bible where he participated in The Gathering group.

He is survived by his parents-in-law: Gerald and Rena Mae Van Zante; siblings-in-law Al Van Zee, Dale and Dana Noon, Betsy and Russ Ferris; and many nieces and nephews.

Hank was preceded in death by his first wife Donna, his parents Andrew and Clara Rooda, his sister Renee Van Zee, his brothers: Stanley and Beatrice Rooda, and Gerrit and Ladonna Rooda, his parents-in-law Dale and Helen Noon, sister-in-law Judy and Don Green, and great granddaughters: Johanna Rose and Brianna Lee.
