Harold Tunis De Reus was born to Ned A. and Gertrude (Klein) De Reus on November 13, 1914 in Pella, Iowa. He passed away at Pella Regional Long Term Care Center on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the age of ninety-two years.

Harold graduated from Pella Community High School. He married Wynona Vander Linden in Palmyra, Missouri in 1939. To this union two sons were born: Ned and Gary Dean. In 1942 they moved to Des Moines, Iowa and lived there until he returned to Pella in 1986.

He retired after twenty-eight years as a tool and die maker at Parr Manufacturing in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1982. Harold enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids. Harold was a great Iowa Hawkeye fan and liked to go fishing. He attended the First Baptist Church in Pella.

Harold is survived by his sons: Ned (Nola) De Reus of Sheldon, Iowa and Gary Dean (Phyllis) of Pella, Iowa; three granddaughters: Brenda (Greg) De Jong, Michelle (David) Vande Voort and Cathy (David) Eden; several great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ella De Reus of Pella, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ned and Gertrude De Reus; wife: Wynona De Reus on October 22, 1982; three brothers: Matthew in infancy and Gary and Marion; and one sister: Jean (Eldon) Tharp.

Peanut will be missed by his family and many friends.

Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemeteryin Pella, Iowa. Service arrangements were made by the Pella Garden Chapel Funeral Home.
