Harold Van Wyk was born to John Will and Ella Wyngarden Van Wyk on December 18, 1925 on the family farm near Sully, Iowa. He passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, on the family farm at the age of eighty-four.

Harold graduated from Sully High School with the class of 1944. He spent his entire life farming.

On July 28, 1960, Harold was united in marriage with Sarah Jonella Van Zante at the Sully Christian Reformed Church. To this union three children were born: Marla, Joel, and Jeffrey.

Harold was a member of the Sully First Reformed Church where he served on the consistory as an Elder and Deacon. He was also a member of the Sully Telephone Board for over thirty years. Harold loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed farming and raising livestock.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost fifty years, Jonella, his three children and their families: Marla and Dan Nieuwsma, Eric, Katie and Brett of Oskaloosa; Joel and Heidi Van Wyk, Abby, Rachel, and Jesse of Sully; Jeffrey and Deb Van Wyk, Courtney, Taylor, and Brady of Sully; and his twin brother: Ralph Van Wyk of Oskaloosa.

Those who preceded him in death are: his parents; his brother Raymond Van Wyk; two sisters: Iola Bartels and LaVerda De Nooy.

Harold was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
