Ila Marjorie Ozinga was born October 5, 1926, to Lambert and Bertha (Vos) Van Wyk, in New Sharon, Iowa. Ila received her grade school education from Garden Hall Country School, and was baptized and made confession of faith in the Peoria Christian Reformed Church.
On January 23, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harold Ozinga. To this union they were blessed with four children: Ken, Bill, Darlene and Alvin. She lived in the Peoria area for many years and was a member of Peoria School Circle. Two years after Harold's death Ila moved to Pella. While living in Pella, she was a member of Volunteer Christian Opportunity Center Corps, and she was also a hospice volunteer. She enjoyed living her life to help others.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, her parents-in-law, granddaughter Pamela Dawn Ozinga, and her siblings: Nellie (Jacob) Vander Molen, Wilma (Gerrit) Bokhoven, John (Grace) Van Wyk, Gretta (Ben) Veenstra, Harry (Cathryn) Van Wyk, and Lester (Leona) Van Wyk.
