James Linder Williams was born on December 10, 1927, in South Bend, Indiana, to Linder and Alida (Farrar) Williams. He graduated from North Liberty High School in Indiana, went on to Indiana University for his B.S. in Business, and completed his education at Michigan State with his M.B.A. degree. James was a Corporal during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952.
James married Luanne Elizabeth Woodruff on April 17, 1954, in Dubuque, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Scott, Gregory, Brian, and Lynne.
James worked as a market researcher. He supported the Men's Group at the United Methodist Church of Pella. Throughout his life he lived in Illinois, Indiana, Connecticut, Michigan, and Iowa. He lived in Pella for the past 28 years.
James passed away on September 10, 2013, at Hospice of Pella Comfort House at the age of 85.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Linder and Alida Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Luanne; three sons: Scott L. Williams of Illinois, Gregory J. Williams of Virginia, Brian D. (Feri) Williams of Nebraska; one daughter, Lynne E. (Jim) Welker of Illinois; grandchildren: Tera (Jason) Kehl, Lauren (Raymond) King, Joshua, Matthew, and Leah Welker, Christopher and Jonathan Williams; great-grandchildren: Kylie, Kinslie, and Carter Kehl; and brother David E. Williams of Tennessee.
