Jeanette Roose was born October 30, 1937, to Age and Alice (Veenstra) Westra. She grew up near Fifield, Iowa, and attended Centennial and Pella Christian Schools. She also grew up on a farm northwest of Leighton. She lived mostly farm life until her late teens when her family moved to town. She worked at Pella Rolscreen until she quit to take care of her ailing mother.

Jeanette was engaged to Anthony Eugene Roose on October 31, 1958, and they were united in marriage May 1, 1959, at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church.  To this union they were blessed to adopt three children: Randy, Judi and Sandi. Jeanette worked for Rolscreen for three years, worked on the farm, and worked for Central College where she retired from.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Randy Roose, Judi Wicks, and Sandi Rivers; her granddaughter Mercedes  Kridelbaugh, grandson Braden Beerbower, and great granddaughters Diamond, Ruby and Amythst.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Anthony, her parents, her brothers: Frank, Wilbur, Charles and Wes Westra and sister-in-law Mary Westra.
