Obituary

Jeffrey Dean "Beek" Vander Beek was born April 30, 1970, to Lambert "Beek" and Karen (Dahm) Vander Beek, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jeff grew up in the Prairie City area and was a 1988 graduate of Prairie City High School. In 2003, he was united in marriage to Michelle Klein.

Throughout Jeff's career, he worked for Kevin Silvers Construction, RYCO, and Pella Corp.  He was a fun-loving, easy-going man with a great sense of humor, and a procrastinator!  He enjoyed going to sprint car races, watching sports – especially the Cubs. Jeff was a caring, proud father; his daughters were his world. He enjoyed watching them play softball and dance in Forte.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters Brynn Vander Beek and Jovi Vander Beek; his parents Beek and Karen Vander Beek; his sister Vicki and Mike Cowman and their children: Josh (Chelsea) Cowman and Tyler (Whitney) Cowman; his brother Doug and Rhonda Vander Beek and their children: Alyssa (Bret) Grier and Drew (Anna) Vander Beek; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
