Obituary

Jerry Hackert was born March 2, 1943, to Carl and Christine (Terlouw) Hackert. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at twelve years old. Jerry attended Lynnville-Sully schools and graduated from Sully High School in 1961.

On July 7, 1964, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Vande Krol in the Sully First Reformed Church.  Jerry worked as a dairy farmer, carpenter, and Maytag employee, as well as various other places. Jerry enjoyed the Iowa State Fair, antiquing and country music.

Jerry is survived by his wife Phyllis and their family:

Daphne, Dalton, Summer, the late Angela

He is also survived by his siblings:  Ken (Verna) Hackert of Lynnville, and Karen (Don) Jansen of Grinnell, sister-in-law Karen Hackert, and his dog and loyal companion Odie.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Lavonne (Forrest) Van Wyk, and brother Paul Hackert.
