De Nooy
July 15, 1948 – July 12, 2025
Jonathan Ray De Nooy was born July 15, 1948, to John and Tillie (De Vries) De Nooy, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was the youngest of three sons, with older brothers Marvin and Kenneth.
Jonathan grew up on a farm between Peoria and Pella. He attended Peoria Christian Grade School and was a 1966 graduate of Pella Christian High School. He attended Peoria Christian Reformed Church where he made profession of his faith.
In January of 1967 he entered the Iowa Air National Guard and returned home from basic training in May of 1967. At that time, he started farming with his father and was married to Lois Meinders on March 1, 1968. To this union three children were born, Patricia Renee, Stuart John and Daniel Lee. Jonathan farmed until the farm crisis of 1982.
At this time Jonathan started selling swine nutrition and later got into property management with government subsidized housing. On October 6, 1990, he married Peggy (Aalbers) Allen. They both were employed by the same property management company and continued this until 1994. At this time Jonathan started in Residential Real Estate Appraisal and continued this until the housing crisis of 2017. In December 2008 he became employed part time with Great American Insurance Group as a Crop Insurance Adjuster traveling to various areas surveying crop damages. Beginning in 2017, he started working for Midwest Sanitation in Pella in the off season, assisting with garbage collection and services. Jonathan enjoyed the outdoors and worked in his garden as therapy at the end of the day.
Jonathan is survived by his wife Peggy De Nooy and her daughter Jessica Allen.
He is also suvived by his children and grandchildren:

Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents John and Tillie De Nooy and his step-mother Julia (Vander Schaaf) (Van Heukelom) De Nooy.
Jonathan is also survived by two brothers: Marvin (Ruth) De Nooy of Des Moines, and Kenneth (Cheryl) De Nooy of Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Calvary Christian Reformed Church, LakeView Camp, or the Christian Opportunity Center.
