Karri Kae Boetger was born October 20, 1956, to Stewart and Marvel (Corder) Jones, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Growing up on a lake in South Dakota swimming was an important part of her early life and led to second in the city of Sioux City and fifth at state in Des Moines in the 100-yard backstroke.

Karri attended McCook School in McCook Lake, South Dakota, was a 1974 graduate of West High School and Western Iowa Tech Community College both located in Sioux City, Iowa. Most recently Karri worked in food service for the Pella Community Schools for six years, before retiring in January 2025.

On December 6, 1975, she was united in marriage to Eric Boetger in Sioux City, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with three children: Erikka in 1977, Kip in 1980, and Kile in 1986. Karri devoted every minute she could to her family and friends and will be missed by all that knew her.

She is also survived by two sisters: Rebecca (Lyle) Chicoine, and Melissa (David) Leonard; brother-in-law Dwight (Pam) Boetger, and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karri was preceded in death by her parents Stewart and Marvel Jones, parents-in-law Jules and Rose Boetger, and aunt and uncle Bernie and Phylis Bock.
