Kenneth Dean Bogaards, son of Gerald and Mattie (Olivier) Bogaards, was born January 22, 1950 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of fifty-seven years.

Ken grew up in the Pella/Leighton area attending Pella Christian Schools. He graduated from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa with a degree in business and served as a public accountant for Drisch and Davis Accounting in Ottumwa for twelve years. Currently he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Proctor Mechanical Corporation where he had been employed for the last sixteen years.

Ken enjoyed music, the Iowa State Fair, friends, restoring and showing antique pickups.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his parents, Gerald and Mattie Bogaards of Pella; three brothers: Ronald (Karen) Bogaards of Saylorville, Loren (Cindy) Bogaards of Pella, Dennis (Eileen) of Urbandale; his nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Andy, and Jordan Bogaards, Kendra, Jared, and Darren Bogaards, Emily and Sarah Bogaards; and a special friend: Nancy Wadsworth of Windsor Heights. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Ken will be missed by his family, his many friends, and co-workers.
