Kenneth Lee Olivier, son of Edward Lester and Jean Eleanor Cornelius Olivier, was born October 9, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away on the morning of Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Marion County Care Facility at the age of sixty-three.
Kenneth attended the Pella Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1963. Kenneth served his country during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Germany.
He was employed as a window assembler at the Rolscreen Company, now known as Pella Corporation. He continued his employment there for twenty years, retiring November 23, 1988.
He married Deborah Moses on June 1968 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. To this union three sons were born: Duane, Chris, and Perry.
On August 27, 1994 Kenneth was united in marriage with Mary Ann Spoelstra at the Open Bible Church in Pella, Iowa.
Kenneth was a member of the Open Bible Church and the American Legion. He loved country music, often attending music shows at Lake Rathbun. He collected wolves, eagles and knives. His favorite place was his home.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Mary of Pella; his three sons and their wives: Duane and Lisa Olivier of Monroe, Iowa, Chris and Amanda Olivier of Grinnell, Iowa, and Perry and Kelly Olivier of Newton, Iowa; five grandchildren: Abigail Olivier, Jessica Olivier, Kiah Christina Sue Olivier, Braydon Olivier, and Kiley Olivier; one sister, Karen Wales and her husband Bob.
Preceding him in death was his parents and grandparents.
Kenneth will be missed by his family and friends.
