Larry Dean Roose was born August 3, 1948, to Gerrit W. and Bessie (Van Hall) Roose in the Mahaska County Hospital.

Larry has always lived in or near Pella his entire life.  He graduated with the class of 1966 of the Pella Community High School.

On June 5, 1970, Larry and Twyla Van Haaften were united in marriage.  They were blessed with two children:  Douglas L. and Deanna Lynn.

Immediately after high school, Larry began work at Pella Corp.  His brother Bill encouraged him to apply for an opening in the drafting department at Vermeer Manufacturing. Five years he worked alongside his brother before he bought a trencher and got into the tiling business for 13 years.  During the winter time he worked for Jim TerLouw (TL & Co) latter being sold to Dale Van Aarondonk and known as Medalist Mfg.  Larry worked for Medalist Mfg for 33 years until his retirement in 2022.

During his retirement years he had the pleasure of making deliveries for Doug Attema Sales, enjoying seeing the country, often alone but sometimes with Twyla.

Larry had a very creative mind.  He enjoyed making several different projects for the church he was attending, Liberty Evangelical Free Church of which he was a charter member.

Those of you who had the privilege to know Larry knew he was a man of Godly character and that is how he lived his life and treated people.  He was a man of integrity and responsibility.  Larry had a servant heart and he served as elder and deacon for many years and on many committees.

Not only did Larry have a servant heart at church but also at home.  Larry has been an excellent caregiver to Twyla during her years of health issues.

Larry loved music!  The radio came on the moment he went in to shower. Thus he took the opportunity to be in the Gospel Singers Male Chorus for many years.  It took a lot of commitment but he loved it.

Larry's family meant everything to him.  He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather.

Of his original family he is survived by Wilford (Bill) (Irene deceased) Roose of Pleasantville,  Gerald (Jerry) and Judy (Den Adel) Roose of Pella.

Preceding him in death, are his parents, Gerrit and Bessie Roose,  Twyla's parents, Arthur and Jeanette Van Haaften.  his sister, Berdene (Warren  deceased) Thomson.

Larry will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, and many friends.
