LaVonne Van Wyk was born on December 20, 1935, to Carl and Christine Terlouw Hackert in Sully, Iowa. She graduated from Sully High School with the class of 1954.
On March 15, 1956, LaVonne was united in marriage with Forrest Van Wyk at the First Reformed Church in Sully, Iowa. They were blessed with four daughters: Debra, Krista, Angela, and Lisa. LaVonne and Forrest farmed in Mahaska County for a number of years before moving to Sully in 1989. Shortly after Forrest's death on December 2, 2006, LaVonne moved to Pella.
LaVonne loved being a homemaker and providing for her family. She also enjoyed gardening. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene in Pella. She enjoyed reading her Bible, going to her grandchildren's activities, and praying for her family.
LaVonne went to her Heavenly Home Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House at the age of seventy-seven.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her four daughters, ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by: her sister and husband, Karen and Don Jansen; her three brothers and their wives: Ken and Verna Hackert, Jerry and Phyllis Hackert, Paul and Karen Hackert.
LaVonne is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest; and her great-granddaughter, Shaeleigh Boot.
