Lloyd Ray Van Zante was born February 12, 1957, to Wilbur and Harriet (De Vries) Van Zante in the Skiff Hospital, Newton, Iowa. He died on March 28, 2021, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Lynnville Sully Schools and Sully Christian School.

Lloyd enjoyed working outside on the farm and around his shop.  He worked for Gifford's DX Gas Station for many years, and owned his own lawn care business.  Lloyd has been living under the care of Link Associates since October 12, 2015.

Lloyd is survived by his mother Harriet Van Zante and three brothers: Arlyn and his wife Barbara of Grinnell, Jim and his wife Marlis of Lynnville, and Merl and his wife Candy of Reasnor; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Wilbur Van Zante.
