Lois Ann (Wehrle) Van Wyk was born February 26, 1937, to Paul and Lula (Dillman) Wehrle in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Lois attended Granville Country School and graduated from New Sharon High School in 1955. She grew up in the Taintor area before moving to Sully in 1956 when she married Vernon Van Wyk and later divorced. Lois was a school cook in Lynnville-Sully, and was a secretary at Enduro Corp and Midwest Sanitation. For the past three years, Lois lived at The Cottages where she passed away on April 19, 2025, at the age of 88.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law Loretta Wehrle, and niece and nephews: Marvin Wehrle, Mary Van Severen, Brian Wehrle, and Bruce Wehrle. Lois was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lula Wehrle, brothers Raymond (Trudy) Wehrle, and Norman Wehrle, and nephew Bryce Wehrle.
This was my prayer for my life, for my family. . .
"Make me willing to wait patiently, for the answer I've prayed for so long. Make me willing to listen to thee, and to say, not my will, but thine be done. Make me willing to thank thee for tears and for heartaches that caused me to pray. Will you make me a vessel the Master can use, keep me willing the rest of my days."
