Lyle John "Yogi" Swank was born on April 17, 1950, to Lloyd Jacob and Marjorie Mae (Van Den Baard) Swank in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at the age of sixty-three.

Yogi received his education in the Pella Community Schools. For a time Yogi cut meat for the Grandia Locker as well as the Ulrich Meat Market where he eventually met Peggy. On July 18, 1992, he was united in marriage with Peggy Sue Wilson at the Valley Church, Marion County Park, Knoxville, Iowa. They were blessed with one son, Lloyd John. For twenty years Yogi was a truck driver for Two Rivers Coop. When his health became a factor, he no longer worked after April 2011. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. His favorite places to spend time were his home and his dad and mom's pond.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Peggy; his son, Lloyd; brothers, Steven (Kathy) Swank and Wes (Janet) Swank; his sister, Bonnie (Wilbur) Rozenberg; mother-in-law, Marjorie Wilson; five sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, N. Wayne Wilson, and two brothers-in-law.

Yogi was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all.
